Ingredients

4 eggs, separated
3/4 c. sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. milk
1 3/4 c. coconut
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 baked (9-inch) pie shell
Preparation

Combine 3/4 cup of sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Stir into slightly beaten egg yolks; add milk.
Cook in top of double boiler until thick, stirring constantly.
Remove from fire.
Add 1 cup of coconut and vanilla.
Pour into baked pie shell.
