Susan'S Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. beef broth (bouillon okay)
    2 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    4 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground cumin
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ground allspice
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    1/16 tsp. ground red pepper
    1 bay leaf
    15 oz. can tomato sauce
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/2 oz. (1/2 sq.) unsweetened chocolate
    tomato paste to thicken
    1 to 2 cans kidney beans, drained (if desired)
Preparation
    Boil beef broth in 4-quart pot.
    Slowly add beef and separate into small pieces.
    Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
    Add everything else except tomato paste and beans.
    Cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
    Thicken with tomato paste as needed.
    Add beans if desired.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Serves 6.
