Ingredients

1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. milk
1 c. shredded coconut
2 slightly beaten egg yolks
2 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. butter
1 baked (9-inch) pie shell
Preparation

Combine sugar, flour and salt in double boiler; add milk gradually, stirring until smooth.
Add 3/4 cup of coconut.
Cook over rapidly boiling water 15 minutes, stirring.
Mix small amount of mixture with egg yolks, return to double boiler and cook two minutes longer.
Remove from heat.
Add vanilla and butter.
Cool. Turn into a cooled pie shell.
Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup coconut.
