Blondies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter (1/2 c.)
    1 egg
    1 c. unsifted flour
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
    1 c. light brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat; remove from heat.
    Add sugar and stir until smooth and dissolved.
    Transfer mixture to larger mixer bowl and beat 1 minute.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Continue beating until light and fluffy, scraping sides of bowl occasionally.
    Stir in flour and salt, just until blended. Fold in chocolate pieces.
    Spread in an 8-inch greased and floured square pan.
    Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350\u00b0 or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
    Do not overbake. Cool completely on wire rack, then cut in squares.
    Makes 16 squares.
