New England Fish Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 Tbsp. margarine
    3/4 c. onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic
    1 bay leaf
    1 sprig parsley
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. skim milk
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    freshly ground black pepper
    1 lb. frozen or fresh haddock or cod fillets, cut into bite size pieces
Preparation
    Melt margarine in pan. Saute onion and garlic. Add all other ingredients. Simmer soup for 45 minutes.
