Roast Chicken And Dressing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 lb. whole chicken
    1 medium onion
    1/4 c. parsley leaves
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. celery salt
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 lb dried bread
Preparation
    Crush bread into fine powder. Chop onion and cook in skillet with 1 tablespoons shortening. Mix bread, onion and remaining ingredients in large bowl, adding water as needed. Clean and trim chicken. Wash thoroughly and salt it. In roaster, add 3 to 4 tablespoons shortening and 1/2 cup water. Put chicken in roaster and pack the stuffing in tightly, wherever room. Bake in oven at 325\u00b0 for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
