Cheese Shortbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. processed sharp cheese
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    few grains cayenne pepper
Preparation
    Cut cheese into shreds and cream with butter.
    Sift in flour, salt and pepper.
    Work this mixture into cheese and butter.
    The mixture will be crumbly.
    Press it together in a piece of waxed paper and chill for several hours.
    Roll to 1/2-inch thickness, folding crumbs over and over until dough holds together in an even rectangle.
    Cut into 1-inch squares.
    Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
    Bake in moderate oven (375\u00b0) for 20 minutes.
    Serve hot or cold.
