Braised Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut in 1/4-inch slices
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground allspice
    1/2 tsp. fresh ground nutmeg
    2 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. vegetable oil
    1/2 c. fresh apple cider
    2 to 3 Tbsp. finely chopped crystallized ginger
Preparation
    In a bowl, toss apples, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg.
    In a non-stick skillet, heat butter and oil over medium heat.
    Add the apples and saute for 1 minute.
    Pour in cider, cover, reduce heat to medium-low.
    Simmer 12 to 15 minutes or until tender.
    Stir in ginger.
    Serve hot.
    Serves 4.
