Basic Sweet Dough - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. warm water
2 pkg. dry yeast
1 1/2 c. milk, scalded (cooled to lukewarm)
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 soft shortening
7 c. flour
Preparation

Pour water in large bowl; add yeast and stir until dissolved. Add milk, sugar, salt, eggs, shortening and half the flour.
Mix until smooth.
Add enough of remaining flour to handle easily. Turn onto floured board and knead until smooth; shape into ball, place in greased bowl, cover and let rise 1 hour in warm place. Punch down, let rise again about 30 minutes.
Shape into desired rolls and bake in usual manner.
