Fluffy White Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tsp. unflavored gelatin
    2 1/2 Tbsp. cold water
    3/4 c. light colored corn syrup
    1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
    2 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Sprinkle gelatin over cold water in a saucepan; let stand 1 minute.
    Add corn syrup; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, just until mixture comes to a boil and gelatin dissolves.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat egg whites and cream of tartar in a medium bowl at high speed of an electric mixer until foamy.
    Slowly add corn syrup mixture; continue beating until stiff peaks form and frosting is of spreading consistency (about 10 minutes).
    To serve, spread frosting over cake layers or cupcakes.
    Yields 2 1/2 cups.
