Grandma'S Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    3 c. soft bread crumbs
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg
    1/2 c. raisins (if desired)
Preparation
    Heat milk and butter until scalded. Grease a 1 1/2-quart casserole. Add remaining ingredients to scalded milk and butter and pour into greased casserole dish. Place casserole in pan of very HOT water and bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes or until a knife inserted 1-inch from edge comes out clean.
