Ingredients

3 cans sliced plain beets
2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. allspice
2 cinnamon sticks
1 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
3 1/2 c. cider vinegar
1 doz. eggs, boiled
Preparation

Put sugar , juice from beets, allspice, cinnamon sticks, salt and vinegar in pan and boil for 15 minutes hard.
Put sliced beets into mixture and boil slowly for 5 to 10 minutes.
Remove cinnamon sticks.
