Stuffed Bell Pepper - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium bell peppers
    1/2 chopped onion
    1 c. stewed tomatoes
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. rice, cooked
    1 c. American cheese, grated
Preparation
    Cut off top of peppers and remove seeds.
    Place in boiling water for 5 minutes.
    Cook ground beef and onion in shortening and drain.
    Add tomatoes, rice, salt and pepper; cover and simmer about 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Then fill peppers with mixture.
    Put peppers into baking dish.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Put grated cheese on top.
