Stuffed Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. fresh mushrooms
    1 lb. sausage (not sage)
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1 tsp. sage
    2 cloves fresh garlic
    1 stick butter
    1 small onion (optional)
    Cheddar or Swiss cheese (optional)
Preparation
    Wash and hull mushrooms. Cut up stems and fry with sausage, chopped onion and garlic.
    Drain. Add sage and cream cheese while hot.
    Mix well.
    In a large skillet, melt butter.
    Place mushrooms in, hulled side down.
    Warm gently.
    While turning over mushrooms, stuff each.
    After stuffing, remove from skillet and drain on wire rack. Top with cheese.
    Place under broiler until cheese is bubbly brown (1 to 2 minutes), optional.
