Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    2 c. cornmeal
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Place oil in a 10-inch black iron frypan; heat in oven 10 minutes.
    Combine cornmeal, baking powder and baking soda in medium size mixing bowl.
    Beat together the egg and buttermilk carefully.
    Stir into dry ingredients; do not overmix.
    Stir in hot oil.
    Pour batter into hot frypan.
    Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
    Remove from frypan to serving plate.
    Cut in pie shaped wedges.
    Serves 8 to 10.
