Flour Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. single acting baking powder
    1 egg
Preparation
    Cream butter and salt, then add the egg and beat until foamy. In another bowl, sift flour, baking powder and add, alternating with milk, to creamed butter mixture.
    Let stand 30 minutes.
    Drop by spoonfuls into chicken broth or boiling water.
    Cook eight to ten minutes.
    The inside should be dry, not mushy.
