St. Nicks Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter (use real butter)
    1/2 c. sifted xxx sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. enriched flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. chopped nuts (have pecans chopped fairly fine)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add vanilla.
    Sift flour and salt; add to mixture.
    Add nuts.
    Chill dough.
    Shape into balls on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Cook until set, not brown.
    Roll in xxx sugar while hot.
