Catherine'S Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, sliced
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/2 c. diced green pepper
    1/2 c. diced onion
    10 oz. pkg. frozen peas
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    6 oz. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    1 lb. bacon
Preparation
    Fill a large bowl or baking pan half full of sliced lettuce, fluffed up.
    Add, in layers: celery, green pepper and onion.
    Add frozen peas which have been cooked, drained and cooled.
    Spread mayonnaise over the top.
    Sprinkle sugar over the mayonnaise. Sprinkle cheese over top.
    Fry, drain and crumble bacon over cheese.
    Cover with plastic wrap and chill overnite.
