Divinity(Candy) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    1 c. light Karo syrup
    3/4 c. cold water
    3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine sugar and syrup in heavy saucepan.
    Cook and do not stir until syrup forms soft ball stage when dropped into cold water.
    Remove from heat.
    Pour slowly into egg whites, beating constantly.
    Beat until candy holds shape and loses gloss.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
