Snickerdoodles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft shortening (part butter)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly the shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
    Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture.
    Roll into balls the size of small walnuts, then roll in 2 tablespoons brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
    Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned and still soft.
