Company'S A Coming - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. sugar
    18 saltine crackers
    1 c. pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 large Cool Whip
    1/2 pt. preserves
    1 pkg. coconut
Preparation
    Beat egg
    whites until frothy.\tAdd cream of tartar and sugar; beat until stiff.\tCrumble saltines, pecans and vanilla.
    Mix gently
    with
    egg
    whites.\tSpread\tin
    buttered 9 x 13-inch pan and
    cook
    25
    minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Cool completely. Mix
    preserves and Cool Whip; spread over meringue.
    Sprinkle with
    coconut. Refrigerate
    24
    hours.
    Any
    preserves may be used.
    Pineapple and apricot are very good.\tServes 24.
