One Egg Cake - cooking recipe

2 c. Yukon's best enriched self-rising flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar until light. Add the egg, beating vigorously. Add the vanilla extract. Add the flour alternately with the milk. Mix until batter is smooth. Pour into greased cake pans. Bake in oven (375\u00b0) 25 minutes. Makes two 8-inch layers.
