Brisket In Natural Gravy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 lb. brisket
    4 medium onions, sliced
    6 cloves garlic, crushed
    4 carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks
    1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
    2 bay leaves
    2 tsp. salt
    4 c. water
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Place brisket, together with onions, carrots, bay leaves, garlic, salt and pepper in Dutch oven or heavy roasting pan with tightly fitting cover.
    Add enough water to just cover meat.
    Cover tightly and cook in preheated oven for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, until brisket is fork-tender.
    Remove brisket to platter.
