Date Nut Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    pinch of cream of tartar
    1 pkg. dates
    1 pkg. pecans
Preparation
    Boil sugar, water and cream of tartar until all dissolved. Add dates and cook until forms a ball in cold water.
    Beat and add nuts.
    Roll in damp towel.
    When cold, slice.
