Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
4 oz. jar strawberry preserves
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add yolks and beat well.
Add the flour gradually, mixing well.
Add vanilla and nuts.
Spread 1/2 batter into a greased 8 x 8 pan and top with preserves.
Cover with remaining batter and bake 1 hour or until top crust is light brown at 325 degrees.
Cool well before cutting.
