Red Beans And Rice(New Orleans Style) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. dry red beans
2 qt. water
1 ham bone (optional)
2 lb. Hillshire smoked sausage links
3 cloves crushed garlic
1/4 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 1/2 c. chopped onion
1 1/2 c. chopped celery
2/3 c. chopped green pepper
3/4 c. chopped scallions
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 tsp. Tabasco or taste
3 tsp. minced fresh parsley
1 1/2 tsp. salt
pinch of sugar
4 c. steamed rice
Preparation
-
Rinse beans well and drain.
Place beans in large pot, cover with water.
Add ham bone, bring to boil.
Reduce heat and simmer 40 minutes.
Add sausage and cook covered over low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Add garlic, onion, celery, peppers, scallions and bay leaf.
