Pinto Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dry pinto beans
    1 (1 x 2-inch) chunk fatback
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. salt
    water
Preparation
    Soak beans overnight in a bowl with water covering beans. Wash and rinse beans the next morning.
    Pick out dirt, stones or bad beans.
    Place in covered pot with all other ingredients, using enough water to cover beans well.
    Cook in crock-pot all day, or bring to boil on regular stove, simmering for 2 to 3 hours.
    Watch and keep beans covered in water.
