Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. Crisco
    2 1/2 c. sugar, sifted
    4 eggs
    3 1/2 c. cake flour, sifted 3 times
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. hot water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. lemon or vanilla flavoring
Preparation
    Cream sugar and Crisco. Add eggs, one at a time. Add soda to hot water and then add to milk. Gradually add to the Crisco and sugar mixture. Add salt and flavoring. Add flour gradually, beating well. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325\u00b0.
