Cherry Pound Cake - cooking recipe

3 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. Crisco
6 eggs (one at a time)
3 3/4 c. plain flour
3/4 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. almond
1 (8 oz.) bottle maraschino cherries, drained and chopped (put half in cake)
