Dick'S Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 egg in a cup (add enough water to make 1/2 c.)
Preparation
    Mix flour and salt; cut in shortening.
    Add egg and water; mix to moisten well.
    You may need to add slightly more water.
    Roll out dough 1/4-inch thick and cut into squares.
    Drop in hot bean soup.
    Cook, covered, about 15 minutes.
    May also be used in chicken broth.
