Fried Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 qt. tart, firm apple sections (8 medium apples)
    5 to 6 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
    2 Tbsp. light brown sugar
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Peel the apples; cut into eighths and remove core.
    Heat 5 tablespoons butter in a heavy skillet.
    Add apples and saut; stir gently over medium heat, about 15 minutes, until just starting to be tender to the fork.
    Add more butter only if needed.
    Sprinkle the lemon juice over apples and then add the sugar.
    Stir once and cover with heavy lid; turn off the heat and let stand covered for 15 minutes.
    Apples should maintain shape and some texture.
    Serve with pork chops or chicken.
    Yields 6 servings.
