Chocolate Chip Cookies From Hillary - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. solid vegetable shortening
    1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. rolled oats
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Combine flour, salt and baking soda.
    Beat together the shortening, sugars and vanilla until creamy.
    Add eggs, beating until fluffy.
    Gradually beat in flour mixture and rolled oats.
    Stir in chips.
    Drop teaspoonfuls of batter onto cookie sheet.
    Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Cool cookies on sheets for 2 minutes before placing them on wire rack for further cooling.
    Yields 7 1/2 dozen cookies.
