Sour Cream Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 sticks butter
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/4 c. flour
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
    1 c. sour cream
    2 c. whipped cream
Preparation
    In mixing bow, mix apples, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg and 1 Tbsp. sugar.
    In skillet, melt 1/2 stick butter and 1/2 c. sugar on medium to high heat; stir until syrupy.
    Spread apples evenly over bottom of pan.
    Remove from heat.
    With electric mixer, cream together 1 1/2 c. sugar and 1 stick butter.
    Add 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda, salt and flour.
    Beat well.
    Add eggs, vanilla and sour cream.
    Beat until smooth.
    Pour over apples.
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0 and bake for 45 minutes.
    Let cool for 15 minutes.
