Ingredients

3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, cut in pieces
1 c. milk
3 c. granulated sugar
3 Tbsp. light corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. margarine or butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Cook chocolate and milk over low heat, stirring until mixture blends.
Add sugar, corn syrup and salt into mixture.
Place over moderate heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
Cook over medium heat (wiping sugar crystals from side of pan as necessary) until soft ball stage (236\u00b0 to 238\u00b0).
