Edith'S Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 c. coconut
    3 c. quick rolled oats
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream sugars and shortening.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Add coconut, nuts and vanilla.
    Sift and measure flour, then add salt, soda and baking powder and sift again.
    Add flour mixture to creamed ingredients.
    Add oatmeal and mix well.
    Roll dough in walnut size balls.
    Place on baking sheet and press down with fork.
    Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 375\u00b0 for 9 minutes.
