Pierogi Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 to 12 potatoes, boiled and mashed or instant mashed potatoes (12 servings)
    1 pkg. bow tie noodles
    1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese
    1/2 lb. American cheese
    2 1/2 sticks butter
    3 onions, diced
Preparation
    Cook noodles; drain and add 1 stick of butter while hot. Shred cheese.
    Mash potatoes and add cheese while hot.
    Cook diced onions in butter.
    Using a 9 x 13-inch baking pan, layer bow ties, mashed potatoes and onion-butter mixture.
    Repeat, ending with bow ties.
    Pour remaining butter and onions over all.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Cover with foil and bake at 350\u00b0 until heated.
