Southern Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. milk
    3 eggs
    1 c. water-ground cornmeal
    3 tsp. baking powder (level)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
    butter (size of a walnut)
Preparation
    Stir cornmeal into 2 cups milk.
    Let come to a boil, making a mush.
    Add remainder of milk, well-beaten eggs, salt, sugar, baking powder and melted butter.
    Bake in a casserole dish in a moderate oven to 30 minutes or until brown.
