Hash Brown Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. pkg. frozen hash browns, thawed
    1/3 to 1/2 c. melted butter
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    2 c. grated cheese
    1 c. sour cream
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1/4 c. melted butter
    1 c. cornflake crumbs
Preparation
    Bake 50 minutes at 350\u00b0, uncovered, in 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Can be made a day ahead and baked the next day.
    Just add topping prior to baking.
    Also great to freeze and to heat in microwave.
