Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. milk
3 c. cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. anise seed
Preparation

Cream sugar and butter well.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt three times, sifting the third time into the butter and sugar alternately with the eggs and milk, stirring between times. Lastly, add the anise seed either crushed or whole.
Roll out about the thickness of a thick pie crust.
Cut with roll cookie cutter or glass.
Bake about 10 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
