Tangy Apple Ring - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. applesauce
    1 (6 oz.) lemon jello
    1 (12 oz.) can (1 1/2 c.) lemon-lime carbonated beverage (Sprite)
    1 tsp. finely shredded orange peel
    1/4 c. orange juice
    1 c. chopped apple
    2 Tbsp. chopped nuts
    mayonnaise (optional)
Preparation
    In medium
    saucepan,
    heat applesauce until it bubbles. Stir in jello.
    Cook
    and stir over medium heat until jello is dissolved.\t Remove
    from\theat.
    Cool.
    Stir
    in\tcarbonated beverage, orange peel and orange juice.
    Chill until partially set.
    Stir in chopped apple and nuts.
