Walnut Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
    2 c. ground walnuts
    8 slices white bread
    4 medium onions, chopped
    3 tsp. sage
    1 tsp. salt or to taste
    12 eggs, well beaten
    mushroom soup
Preparation
    Toast bread and roll into crumbs. Cook onions until clear in small amount of butter.
    Combine all ingredients except mushroom soup.
    Form into thin patties; fry slowly in oil for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Place patties in 1 large or 2 medium size casseroles. Cover with slightly thinned mushroom soup and heat in a 350\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes.
    Serves 12.
