Drop Donuts - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 large eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. grated lemon or orange peel
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
cooking oil
cinnamon
Preparation

Beat eggs and stir in buttermilk, vanilla and lemon or orange peel.
Combine flour and baking powder, stir into egg mixture. Cover with a cloth and let stand for 1 hour.
Heat deep fryer to 375\u00b0.
Drop batter by a tablespoon just a few at a time.
Drain on paper towel.
Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Best served while hot.
Makes about 30 donuts.
