Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 oz. red cake coloring
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. cake flour, sifted
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vinegar
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
Make a paste of coloring and cocoa.
Add to creamed mixture.
Add buttermilk with salt, alternately with flour and vanilla.
Last: add soda, baking powder and vinegar.
Bake in two 9-inch pans, greased and lightly floured.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
