Aunt Virginia'S 6-Week Bran Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. boiling water
2 c. raisins
5 tsp. soda
5 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 qt. buttermilk
4 c. All-Bran cereal
2 c. 40% bran flakes
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
4 eggs
Preparation

Pour boiling water over raisins.
Add soda; let cool.
Sift flour into extra large mixing bowl.
Save 1/2 cup flour for nuts. Add salt, cereals and floured nuts.
Cream Crisco and sugar.
Add eggs and buttermilk.
Fold in raisin mixture.
Add all at once to dry ingredients.
Mix until moistened.
Cover.
Store in refrigerator.
When needed, fill muffin cups 2/3 full and bake at 375\u00b0.
Refrigerate unused portion.
