Crow Nest Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. large sour pickles
    14 c. sugar
    2 c. cider vinegar
    1 c. water
    1/2 pkg. pickling spices
Preparation
    Slice pickles thin.
    Let these remain in this liquid.
    Add 8 garlic buds to pickles.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Pack in jars; cover and let stand a week or 10 days.
    It's the sugar that makes the pickles crisp, so don't scrimp on the sugar.
