Pao Doce (Portuguese Sweet Bread)(Requires Patience, But Well Worth It) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large or 2 small potatoes
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 pkg. yeast
    1/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    3 eggs
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. butter, melted
    4 c. flour
Preparation
    Boil potatoes until soft.
    Save 1/4 cup of the water they were boiled in.
    Mash potatoes and measure 1 cup.
    Add 2 tablespoons sugar and yeast to lukewarm potato water.
    Stir until dissolved. Stir in mashed potatoes and set aside until mixture doubles in size.
    Scald milk; add salt and cool until lukewarm.
    Set aside.
