Ingredients

3/4 c. margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. dark molasses
2 c. flour, sifted and measured
2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. ginger
Preparation

Cream margarine; add sugar gradually and cream together.
Add egg and molasses; beat well.
Measure and sift dry ingredients together.
Add to creamed mixture and beat until flour disappears. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove from pan and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Makes 4 to 5 dozen cookies.
