Strawberry Glaze Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 pt. fresh strawberries
    1 small pkg. frozen strawberries
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 envelope unflavored gelatin
    red food coloring
    whipped cream
Preparation
    Line the bottom of baked pie crust with the strawberries (fresh ones); mash the frozen strawberries.
    Add enough water to make 2 cups.
    Add sugar and cornstarch and cook until thick.
    Dissolve gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water.
    Add to hot mixture food coloring. Pour over the strawberries.
    Be sure the glaze is cool before pouring on berries in crust.
    Chill in refrigerator.
    Top with sweetened whipped cream or Cool Whip.
