Basic White Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 pkg. active dry yeast
    1 1/2 c. warm water
    5 to 6 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Scald milk.
    Stir in
    sugar,
    salt and butter.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Dissolve yeast in
    warm
    water in warmed bowl.
    Add lukewarm milk mixture and
    4
    1/2
    cups
    flour.
    Attach
    dough hooks, turn speed to 2 (medium) for 2 minutes or well blended; continuing on speed 2, add remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until dough clings to hook
    about 3 minutes.
    Knead on speed 2 for 7 to 10 minutes
    longer
    or
    until
    dough
    is
    smooth
    and elastic.
    Dough will be
    slightly
    sticky to the touch.
    Place in greased bowl.
    Cover.
    Let
    rise
    in
    warm place, free from draft until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
