Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. caramel
    3/4 c. white syrup
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. light cream
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, syrup, butter and half cup of cream.
    Then bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Add remaining half cup of cream.
    Cook slowly to very hard ball stage on oven at 260\u00b0. Remove from heat; add nuts and vanilla.
    Pour in 8-inch greased square pan.
    Mark in squares when partially cool.
    Cut when cold. Wrap caramels in wax paper and keep in a tight container.
    Makes up to 100 pieces.
